DeenTV Short Film Contest (Fall 2021)

Join the DeenTV 2021 Short Film Contest. Make a video between 5 to 7 minutes long about anything regarding faith, spirituality, personal growth, God consciousness or general positivity.

Short Film vs. Short Video

In the Short FILM Contest, DeenTV requires you to create a short film between 5-7 minutes that has actors, dialog and a solid storyline. It usually requires cooperation between several people in order to coordinate a good script, at least one actor, and someone to film/edit the video. Submissions that do not have a storyline will not be considered for prizes.

Prizes

We are currently set the prizes as follows:

• $1000 first place
• $800 second place
• $500 third place
• $300 fourth place
• $200 fifth place
• $100 sixth place
• $50 seventh place
• $50 eighth place

We are talking with an organization that might be interested in donating to make these prizes even better. So the above might prizes might change.

To submit your work email us a link to your video uploaded to a cloud storage space (Google Drive or Dropbox works well). We must receive this email by 11:59pm Sept 15 EST (Eastern Standard Time) for the entry to be valid. It helps if you write a little synopsis of the video and a summary so we publish this along with your video if it is chosen. Email us info@deen.tv with the subject “2021 Short Film Contest”

Be sure NOT to use music or songs that are copyrighted. YouTube will immediately tell us if a song or music that has a copyright was used and your video may be disqualified. You can use music here.

Judging Criteria

Films with be judged based on the following criteria:

• Story
• Production Quality / Execution
• Message
• Character/Dialogue
• Creativity/Originality
• Views/Subscribers/Likes

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: Can I submit a film that I made before?

A: Yes, but videos that were not made specifically for our contest will be judged lower. Videos that are already published (Youtube, Vimeo, etc) will not be accepted.

Q: Can I submit a film in another language?

A: No. Since our audience is pretty much all English speakers, the short films must be in the English language.

Q: When will I know if I won?

A: Films of the finalist will be posted inshaAllah soon after Sept 15th and the winners announced on Sept 30th, inshaAllah. But if there are a large amount of entries, it might be take a bit longer to judge.
