But are you really remembering Allah and glorifying your Creator in everything you do? During those dull moments of the day? When you’re stuck in traffic? About The Video
“God is the Greatest” is a single released by Native Deen that is one of their classically styled Nasheeds. Simply produced with some percussion and the lyrics consisting purely of repetitive dhikr (“Allahu Akbar”, “La Illaha ill Allah”) it’s still amazingly catchy and will have you chanting along with the group as the song goes on.
The video starts off with a verse from the Quran, “There is not a single thing that does not praise God, it’s just that you don’t understand how they praise him.” The powerful, thought-provoking verse sets the tone for the rest of the video which features the trio of Naeem Muhammad, Joshua Salaam and Abdul-Malik Ahmad strolling the streets of DC on those neat E-scooters that you can ride downtown. The three of them riding together while singing the praises of Allah is a cool visual.
The video also features Native Deen visiting the Islamic Center of DC and Khalil Gibran memorial which, if you’re not from the area, makes you interested in wanting to visit and see the scenic locales.
The chemistry between the three that made them popular for so many years is on full display in such a simple song as the three each bring something unique to the table. From Joshua salaams deep chanting of Allahu Akbar, to Abdul-Malik’s crisp vocalization of “Hasbi Rabbi Jallallah”, to Naeems soulful translation of the chant in English, it just works and accomplishes its mission in making the listener want to glorify Allah right along with them..
